The Palm Jumeirah Mega Yacht Marina
July 28, 2009 - Dubai

Island Global Yachting (IGY), a luxury marina developer and management company, revealed plans at the Monaco Yacht Show to develop and manage Dubai's first dedicated megayacht marina.
The Palm Jumeirah Mega Yacht Marina will become one of only a handful of such marinas in the world.
The project has an estimated completion date of third quarter 2009. It will be located on the west side of Palm Jumeirah's trunk, adjacent to the Trump International Hotel & Tower.
With an estimated value of $116 million (AED 425 million), the marina will have 75 berths, 30 of which will be capable of accommodating yachts between 50 and 165 metres. The remaining 45 berths will accommodate yachts between 14 and 20 metres in length.
"The Middle East is home to more megayachts than any other region in the world, so it is fitting that such a magnificent facility should be located in Dubai.
Even amid the current economic climate, demand remains extremely high for these sized yachts, and we are delighted to be able to deliver the magnificent Palm Jumeirah Mega Yacht Marina through our partnership with Nakheel," said Michael Horrigan, CEO Middle East and Europe, IGY.
He added that the marina was to become the "flagship" marina for IGY globally, with outstanding service and features.
The design allows for 75 berths to provide yachts such amenities as pontoons wide enough for two cars to park side by side. There will also be in-berth refueling, dockside storage, and shore-side crew facilities.
The berths will radiate out from luxurious members-only clubhouse, with an elevated rooftop for luxury dining.
