Three Musketeers Castle, France

Château d'Arricau-Bordes, the French chateau that inspired Alexander Dumas's famous novel The Three Musketeers, is back on the market.

The 18th century castle was once the home of Comte Jean-Paul Montesquiou d'Artagnan, uncle of the illustrious musketeer who helped inspire the novel.

The castle was restored in the seventies when the medieval buildings earned the listing of Monument Historique, and four years ago it was bought by British billionaire Robert Shetler-Jones who promptly redid the interior.

Italian Government May Sell Palaces, Beaches, And Islands

Perhaps is smacks of desperation but it is a great opportunity for wealthy property investors as Italian officials draw up a list of palaces, beaches and islands that could be put up for sale.

The Italian government is considering selling hundreds of pieces of real estate to reduce its national debt including palaces, beaches, islands and forts with an estimated value of more than $5 billion.

Carla Bruni's Castle Back on the Market

The historic home in the Italian hills where French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy spent her early childhood is staking a "for sale" sign once again, just months after a Saudi billionaire bought the palatial property for US$25 million.

Saudi businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, has exclusively relisted the historic castle with Immobilsarda S.r.l. with a reported asking price of about US$28 million.

The 40-room, 2,100-sq m Castello di Castagneto Po has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt over the years but is believed to first date from the year 1019.

Carla Bruni's Castle Back on the Market

The historic home in the Italian hills where French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy spent her early childhood is staking a "for sale" sign once again, just months after a Saudi billionaire bought the palatial property for $25 million.

Now the buyer, who has since been revealed as billionaire Saudi businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, has relisted the historic castle with an affiliate of Christie's Great Estates with a reported asking price of about 19 million Euros ($28 million).

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie's French Chateau

Fresh from his Inglorious Basterds premiere in Berlin, Brad Pitt made a stop at Chateau Miraval, the estate he and Angelina Jolie are leasing in the south of France.

Brad flew into Marseille, France July 29 for a one-day stop over at the Chateau to inspect the nearly $5 million in renovation work he has underway.

The $60 million chateau in the French Riviera features 35-bedrooms and is set to be the new home of the Pitts to raise their plethora of children.

Charlemagne’s Castle For Sale In Italy

A medieval castle once ruled by Charlemagne, “King of the Franks,” is for sale in Italy, dungeon included.

Located on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, the castle dates back to 802 and features restored stone battlements with gun ports, four turrets, a moat and the dungeon, reportedly built in 1500.

Five buildings are clustered around the circular courtyard and the estate includes about 13 hectares of olive groves and woodlands.
