Most expensive property in Maine sold

Following on from the sale of the most expensive apartment in Asia, A York Harbor oceanfront estate on Maine’s rocky coast, listed by Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty, recently sold at a record breaking $4.8 million. The record breaking property is the most expensive property sold in all of Maine thus far in 2009, per MLS data. It is also the most expensive property to ever sell in The Yorks, topping the previous record by over $600,000, set by Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty in 2007.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe buys $5.7 million New York house

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has extended his property portfolio after buying a town house in New York worth nearly $5.7 million. Radcliffe's first New York purchase was two years ago – a $5.2 million fifth-floor apartment in the SoHo district. With five bedrooms, Radcliffe’s new town house on West 12th Street measures 3,000sq ft and was apparently built 162 years ago by a sea captain.

Canada's most expensive residential real estate sale of the year

Canada's most expensive residential sale so far this year occurred last month. Falkridge, a luxury retreat in the Calgary region, sold for $13.1 million after being on the market just a few weeks.

On the Market: Former Home of Truman Capote

The saltbox home in the Hamptons commissioned by author Truman Capote in 1961 has gone on the market for $14.6 million, Luxist reports. Mr. Capote resided in the Sagaponack home, which sits on four acres near the beach, for 23 years prior to his death in 1984. He bequeathed the property to his partner, Jack Dunphy. When Mr. Dunphy died in 1992, the house was passed on to the Nature Conservancy, which then sold it to artist Ross Bleckner in 1993 for $800,000.

George Graham Joins Sotheby’s Concierge

The ex-managing director of Fortress’s Drawbridge Special Opportunities Fund George Graham has joined Sotheby’s International Realty’s Concierge Auctions. Concierge is hopeful that Graham's history as a lender and investment banker will bring valuable relationships to the company, according to Fortune magazine. Graham will serve as CEO of the group, which was founded three years ago by a South Florida broker with the purpose of unloading properties that would otherwise not sell on the open market.

The penthouse is listed at $9.9 million and features an elliptical staircase, spacious living room, luxurious master and all the beige you could ever want. The master suite is downstairs and has a huge walk-in closet and a marble bathroom. The small library has custom built-ins and one of Madoff's beloved bull statues slouches in the corner.
