Located to the east of the historic Borders town of Hawick, Bucklands House is set in a private and peaceful countryside location.

Hawick is centrally located for all the Scottish Borders market towns, and only 45 miles from Edinburgh. The town is well situated with good transport links: the terminus of the Scottish Borders Railway is 20 miles north, while both mainline train services and Newcastle Airport are 52 miles to the southeast.

The town, famous for its textile industry which dates back centuries, with its connection to cashmere production still very much alive today, offers a wide range of services including supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, professional services and a primary and secondary school. The town is an integral part of the Cashmere Trail and is the major remaining centre for that industry in the Borders. In addition, the town hosts a number of spectacular events throughout the year, including the world famous Common Riding.

The Borders area is well known for its range of outdoor activities. The River Tweed and its tributaries are internationally famed for the quality of their salmon and sea trout fishing. Numerous local golf courses, including the recently renovated Roxburghe Championship Course near Kelso, cater for golf enthusiasts. The area also has plenty of walking trails and cycling routes for those wanting to keep fit.

Description

Bucklands House is a substantial bungalow of about 2100 sq ft situated in an elevated plot in the Scottish Borders countryside. Directions

Take the A68 North and once crossed the Border take the A6088 through Bonchester Bridge and follow to Hawick. You will meet the A698 where you should turn right (not left into Hawick). Follow the road for about 400 metres and turn left over the river. Once crossed the river turn left and follow this road for about 1 km and turn right at the gate lodge. Follow the private road, keeping left. Bucklands house is at the end of the drive.
