EXCLUSIVE: High-end, millennial Realtor jumps to new startup brokerage firm
February 18, 2016 - Arizona
Chris Karas — one of the top producing real estate agents in the high-end markets of Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Arcadia — has switched firms.
Karas, 34, has started a new residential real estate group, The Karas Group.
That group is part of newly formed brokerage firm in Scottsdale called Launch Real Estate.
Karas has moved over to Launch from Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.
Karas, who specializes in $1 million-plus listings, was a top agent at Russ Lyon.
Launch launched last month by prominent real estate executive John Vatistas.
Other well-known agents involved with Launch include top Russ Lyon agentSandra Baldwin, top Berkshire Hathaway broker Robert Joffe, Arcadia/Biltmore specialist Heather Maclean, David Newcombe, Chris Morrson and Ronnie Gilbert.
Karas is one of the co-founders of Launch.
Karas said there already are 70 agents with Launch and he has three other agents in his group.
He said the goal to grow the new larger firm to 200 to 300 agents.
“We’re going to bring in the best of the best,” he said.
He said the next couple of months are key to the local housing market because of the nice weather. Karas said 60 percent of sales happen in Phoenix’s spring between February and May.
Karas said he’s often younger than some of his cohorts and competitors in the real estate realm. But he’s see that as advantage as millennials, including those in their younger 30s, change the cultural and economic landscape. He hopes to better leverage social media and online slideshows to market homes, especially high-end homes in high-end markets.
“People love to see what’s out there,” Karas said.
