Chateau Hrubá Skála, Estate of the day
January 23, 2013 - Czech Republic
The Chateau Hrubá Skála was originally castle founded in 14th century and later rebuilt into a renaissance, later neo-gothic chateau.
It is situated in a romantic landscape called "Czech Paradise" near Turnov, just 50 minutes drive from Prague.
Crossing the stone bridge with precious baroque sculptures you enter onto a pseudo gothic part of the castle.
Through another bridge one reaches the actual 2 floor chateau. The whole chateau complex very well blends into the surrounding landscape.
This castle is actually very affordable. The asking price is no higher than CZK88,000,000 which is about $4,700,000!
