Mats Wilander Puts Idaho Estate Up for Sale
January 27, 2012 - Idaho
Former tennis champion Mats Wilander has put his 81-acre estate in Sun Valley, Idaho, back on the market, trimming its price to $5.9 million.
It was originally listed in June 2008 for $8.5 million and was later reduced to $6 million before being taken off the market.
"It's been a tough market, and we listed too high the first time," says Mr. Wilander. With his kids heading off to college, he and his wife want to downsize.
After discovering that Sun Valley's air helps a skin condition that affects one of their sons, the couple bought the property in 1997 for around $1.8 million and relocated from Greenwich, Conn.
They built a 10,500-square-foot home as well as a guesthouse, caretaker's residence, pool and hot tub (no tennis court). Todd Conklin and Stephanie Reed of Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties have the listing.
