Steve McQueen's former Idaho ranch sells For $6.3 Million
May 19, 2014 - Idaho
The approximately 500-acre ranch, near Sun Valley, was listed in July by agent Trent Jones of Hall and Hall for $7.4 million.
The screen legend lived at the property, known as Crazy M Ranch, with his third wife, Barbi, in the months before his death from mesothelioma at the age of 50 in November 1980.
In the actor's day it was a rustic property nestled in the foothills of the Pioneer Mountains, but now the property includes a luxury two-bedroom log cabin which links to a 1,700sq ft entertaining annex.
The renovations to the property, officially known as Pioneer Moon Ranch, were added by the current owners, who bought the ranch from McQueen's widow in 1999.
The Riehles remodeled the original house and added an adjacent 1,500-square-foot structure with one bedroom, 1½ baths, a living room, a dining room and a library.
