Victoria Beckham Wants to Buy a House in Chelsea
August 10, 2009 - London
Victoria Beckham, wife of footballer David Beckham and the former Spice Girl, desires to buy a 10 million pounds ($17 million) home in the exclusive London district of Chelsea.
The prospect of the Beckhams moving to west London will increase speculation that the former England captain could move to Chelsea football club in January in a loan deal similar to the one which took him from the LA Galaxy to AC Milan this year.
"Victoria makes no secret of the fact she loves that house. She has had her eye on it for a while. It would be perfect London pad for the Beckham family," said a source.
The house was discovered by Victoria in 2002 who then had recommended it to urban music mogul Damon Dash. The 35-year-old star attended several parties there before she had a row with Damon while working on an album.
She had also tried to contact estate agents for a view of the house when she discovered the property had recently gone on the market.
The property, formerly a Huguenot chapel is made up of two low-rise artist studio houses joined together.
The rear contains five bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms and the front houses the kitchen and dining areas with an artist's studio room upstairs leading onto a private terrace.
