The Heron, City of London
June 01, 2011 - London
Hong Kong exhibition taking place this weekend
- The City of London's first major residential development for 30 years
- Over 60% of apartments at this award-winning development have been sold in 12 months
- Introducing the 'Panoramic Collection'
The Heron, a 36 storey tower and the tallest new residential tower in the City of London will contain 285 highly specified apartments. It was launched in March 2010 and, since then, over 60% of the apartments have been sold. It is the first major residential development in London's financial district for over 30 years.
At this weekend's exhibition, held at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel from 3 - 5 June between 11am and 7pm, buyers will also be able to purchase apartments from the 'Panoramic Collection', the highest, largest and most highly specified apartments released so far in the development, with the best views. Located between the 31st and 34th floors of the tower, these one, two and three bedroom apartments are between 178 sq m and 225 sq m and include bespoke Boffi kitchens with top of the range Gaggenau appliances. All residents will also benefit from a landscaped roof garden, a residents' club lounge, concierge service, gym, screening room, and valet parking.
The relatively weak pound and the increased affordability of residential property in the UK have seen an increase in the number of foreign investors looking to access the UK property market. The development's unique location right at the heart of one of the world's most important economic centres makes The Heron a particularly appealing option for investors from abroad and international businesspeople.
The Heron is adjacent to The Barbican Centre on Silk Street, home to the finest in international arts and culture, with a diverse programme of exhibitions, performing arts, concerts and cinema. It is within walking distance of the Barbican, Moorgate and Liverpool Street tube stations, equating to direct access to five of London's 12 tube lines and to two of the City's train stations. From the majestic St Paul's Cathedral to Shoreditch and Spitalfields market, the surrounding area offers something for everyone.
The lower floors of The Heron will provide state-of-the-art new facilities for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, one of Europe's leading conservatoires. The custom-designed performance, teaching and support space will include a 608 seat concert hall, a 227 seat drama theatre, and a 126 seat studio theatre and will be an international cultural destination, enhancing the prestige of the residential tower. The School's impressive list of alumni includes Daniel Craig, Dido, Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor, to name but a few.
Commenting, Lisa Ronson, Commercial Director of Heron International, said:
"The Heron has been extremely popular with buyers both in the UK and internationally, principally because of its quality and rare location at the heart of London's Square Mile. We are delighted with the success of the development so far and look forward to unveiling the 'Panoramic Collection' of larger, higher apartments to the Hong Kong market for the first time this weekend."
The Heron will be completed in 2013 and apartments are available to buy now.
