Shonda Rhimes Lists Massive Los Angeles Mansion for $10 Million
November 01, 2018 - Los Angeles
Television mega-producer and screenwriter Shonda Rhimes is selling her home in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles for almost $10 million.
Ms. Rhimes purchased the home for about $5.6 million in 2010, said listing agent Ed Solórzano of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
Traditional in style, the home is on a corner lot above South Hudson Avenue and has a series of Juliet balconies and french doors that open onto a garden, according to listing.
There are six bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, including a large master suite with dual baths, two walk-in closets and a separate sitting room. Outside, there is a pool and a cabana with a wood-burning fireplace.
Mr. Solórzano said Ms. Rhimes darkened the wooden floors and converted the pool cabana, which had been used as a recording studio, back to its original use.
The glitzy Hancock Park neighborhood is well known for its 1920s-era homes, many of which were designed by architect Paul Williams.
