A New York Townhouse, With Disco Ball
April 22, 2016 - Manhattan
British technology entrepreneur Jos White is listing his 19th century Manhattan townhouse, which includes whimsical design details like a disco ball in the master bathroom, for $26 million.
In the West Village, the red brick house has four bedrooms plus staff quarters and measures about 4,700 square feet, with a garden, roof deck and two terraces, according toJan Hashey of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who has the listing with colleagues Steve Halprin and Leslie Mason.
A powder room’s wallpaper incorporates photos of the family, and a seating area off the kitchen has a green banquette and a neon sign intended to resemble a diner.
An elaborate hand crank opens and closes an angled wall of windows in Mr. White’s home office, providing access to the roof deck. The master suite’s décor includes a stuffed peacock.
