Hong Kong Heiress Buys Sting’s Manhattan Penthouse
May 15, 2018 - Manhattan
A Hong Kong beverage heiress is the buyer of Sting's magnificent duplex penthouse with sweeping views of Central Park in New York City.
Karen Lo purchased the 5,400-square-foot unit from the 65-year-old iconic rocker for $50 million in a deal that closed in April, according to the Wall Street Journal.
It’s a good return for Sting and his wife Trudie, who paid $26.98 million for the unit in 2008. The British rock legend made several refurbishments to the unit, including two spiral staircases.
The 15 Central Park West residence was initially listed for $56 million back in May 2017. The two-story pad on the 16th and 17th floors has sweeping views of Central Park.
The stars aren't relocating far, however. Sting and Trudie are reportedly looking into buying a place at the 220 Central Park South, which won't be available until next year.
Former Brown Harris Stevens agent Erin Boisson Aries - who’s now at Christie’s International Real Estate - represented Lo in the transaction. The Corcoran Group’s Deborah Kern had the listing.
