Mike Piazza, a Hall of Fame baseball player, will soon buy a condo in the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach.
The retired catcher has a unit under contract from developer Lionheart Capital for $5.6 million. He is expected to close within a week.
The condo has 3,838 square feet of interior space with three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, plus 3,132 square feet of outdoor living area.
Piazza was represented in the deal by Viviana Junc of Douglas Elliman, the exclusive marketing agent for the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach.
The Piazzas also bought a one-bedroom "guest suite" elsewhere in the building that had been listed for $585,000, according to Ophir Sternberg of Lionheart.
Properties at the Ritz-Carlton Residences start at $2 million. Real estate development firm Lionheart Capital received a temporary certificate of occupancy last month and said 70% of units were sold.
