Montana Ranch: $45 Million
May 24, 2010 - Montana
By Candace Jackson from The Wall Street Journal Asia
The Dana Ranch, a 60,000-acre working cattle ranch in Montana, is quietly being offered for sale for $45 million. It's on the market for the first time in its nearly 100 years.
The property includes recreational areas for big-game hunting, fishing and viewing wildlife.
About 25 miles outside of Great Falls, the land includes four miles of Missouri River frontage in an area known for its trout fishing. The cattle operation includes housing for staff and equipment.
Owners David and Tanya Cameron are selling because they're retiring. The family of Mr. Cameron, a longtime zoology professor at Montana State University, has held the ranch since 1946.
David Johnson with Hall & Hall in Bozeman has the listing.
