Fashion's Gucci family is offering a midtown-Manhattan apartment to rent for $60,000 a month.
The recently gut-renovated seven-bedroom penthouse, on the 50th and 51st floors of the Olympic Tower, has floor-to-ceiling views of New York Harbor and the Empire State Building.
It has two private elevators. Maurizio Gucci, the former head of the fashion house and the grandson of the company's founder, Guccio Gucci, bought the apartment in the 1970s. Maurizio was murdered in Milan in 1995.
Today, the apartment is owned by Maurizio's daughters, Alessandra and Allegra Gucci.
For the latter, now living in Switzerland, the home is full of happy childhood memories: "It's part of the family," she says, adding that the family often spent Christmas there.
The apartment, which is offered unfurnished, comes with a one-year minimum lease. Daniela Rivoir with Brown Harris Stevens has the listing.
