Sotheby’s International Realty recently published its luxury housing properties global survey, ranking Taipei second based on 2013 sales data.
Dun Feng, a high-end, mixed-use housing complex located along Dunhua South Road in the Da’an District, Taipei, was sold last year for an estimated TWD920 million (USD30.38 million), according to The China Post.
The 347-sqm property, located in the prestigious East District near Anhe Road, was completed in 1990 and comprises 24 luxury apartment units in nine storeys and a five-level basement parking.
Last year’s top ten global luxury home sales were valued at USD264 million by Sotheby’s International, which also reported that Asian buyers with investor visas are largely interested in New York and Sydney luxury real estate.
Taiwan’s Yangmingshan district is also becoming a favoured destination, according to the report.
Taking the top spot on Sotheby’s survey is the 204-acre ranch previously owned by actor Michael Douglas in Snowmass Village, Colorado in the United States, which sold for USD44 million last September.
Sydney placed third in the survey, boasting a USD28.38 million deal involving a 2,147 sqm, five-bedroom mansion that features an 18-car garage, a separate penthouse, tennis court, swimming pool and several detached guest homes.
