In a small cluster of buildings with a tiny chapel at the bottom of the garden, Chiesina is set on the east facing slope of the historic Monte Corona estate. The house, approached by a pretty country road which passes by a 12th century abbey and through leafy woods, is a short drive from the market town of Umbertide whilst the ancient city of Perugia, along with the airport which serves it, is half an hour to the south, as is Lake Trasimeno to the southwest.

The property is attached to another dwelling but is back to back with it rather than being alongside, so Chiesina remains private. Access to the property is through a gate into the adorable walled garden which is laid to lawn and planted with a variety of plants and shrubs including a climbing rose which tumbles over the wall into the little path which leads to the chapel. Glassed doors from the garden lead directly into the sitting room which is separated from the dining area by a wide, terracotta brick arch. The sitting room has a working fireplace and the dining room a wood-burner. The rustic kitchen is next to the dining area and has access via a narrow door onto a gravelled area of the garden.

Steep but characterful stairs lead up to a study/occasional bedroom which is connected to a double bedroom and to a corridor which leads to the first of two bathrooms. Both the study and double bedroom have little balconies which overlook the garden and add to the overall charm of the building. More stairs lead to the top floor where there are two more bedrooms and the second, marble lined bathroom.

This authentic and unspoiled property is full of character and charm with traditional exposed wooden beams, terracotta floor and ceiling tiles and an abundance of little niches and original features.

There is another larger plot of land on the other side of the extremely quiet country road and here the owners have planted a small olive grove and have created a delightful sitting area; again the property is private as it sits below the level of the road.

The water supply comes from Monte Corona itself via a system owned and maintained by a local company. It is metered and paid for annually. The gas supply comes from a holding tank interred on the additional land.

The view of the surrounding Umbrian hills is beautiful and the location is peaceful and panoramic; a charming and characterful Umbrian property in a convenient location.
