Location

County Donegal is located on the north-westerly tip of Ireland and is considered one of Ireland's most beautiful and unspoilt counties which is renowned for its history, heritage and landscape. Donegal is typified by its dramatic towering sea cliffs, rolling lush hills and stunning beaches.

The popular fishing village of Portnablagh (1 km) is convenient for local services with the towns of Dunfanaghy (2.5 km). Letterkenny (32 km) provides further amenities including shops, banks, and restaurant.

Rinnaraw enjoys a wonderful setting overlooking Sessiagh Lough which is renowned for its fly fishing (in particular for brown trout and arctic char) and plentiful wildlife. Local wildlife which can be spotted around the lough include ravens, crag martins, herons and ducks. There is also an historic crannog in the middle of the lough.

An abundance of stunning beaches can be found in the locality including Portnablagh beach (1 km), Killahoey beach (2.5 km) and Tramore beach (7 km) . Marble Hill Strand (3.5 km) is one of the most beautiful settings in Donegal and its blue flag sandy beach is popular amongst swimmers, surfers, bathers and walkers. An abundance of sporting and leisure facilities are available close by, including Jaws watersports which offers a local surf school in Dunfanaghy.

Local areas of interest include the 4-star Shandon Hotel and Spa (4 km), Ards Forest Park, a 1200-acre park with wonderful trails, and also Glenveagh National Park (18 km) which is a hillwalker's paradise with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls and woodland.
For golfing enthusiasts, Dunfanaghy Golf Club (2 km) offers one of the finest links courses in Donegal, while Rosapenna Golf Resort in Downings (20 km) has two championship links courses - Sandy Hills and Old Tom Morris and a third course, St Patrick's Links by Tom Doak.

Local schooling is available at Faugher National School, Holy Trinity National School, Ballymore National School. Secondary school options are available in both Letterkenny and Milford.

Donegal Airport is 43 km distant while the town of Dunfanaghy is well served by transport links connecting it to Letterkenny, Galway, Dublin, Derry/Londonderry and Belfast. Daily ferry services are also available from Magheroarty Pier to Tory Island.

Rinnaraw is a truly stunning home in a private setting offering wonderful views across Sessiagh Lough.
