The "Mill House", built in 1860 is sited on a hill overlooking the town of Chester and a string of waterfalls that once powered the mill and continues through the town square. The Mill House itself is a handsome example of period New England colonials of the era. Dating to colonial times, Chester was founded alongside the Connecticut River around 1672. Today the central square is a hub for an energetic collaborative of artisan boutiques, art studios and haberdasheries. The Norma Terrace Goodspeed Theatre offers both classic favorites and off Broadway productions much of the year 'round.
