Description

The first written records of Sundrum suggest that it was initially constructed in 1373 with numerous renovations and additions being included over the years. John Hamilton, a sugar merchant, purchased the estate in 1762 at the age of 23, and in the 1790s he commenced a major programme of works, extending the castle to accommodate his growing family, creating one of the most impressive properties in Ayrshire.

The East Wing forms a major part of the B Listed Sundrum Castle. Laid over four levels, the accommodation is generously proportioned and has retained an air of elegance yet provides an excellent setting for family living. The total area of private garden, magical woodland and grounds equates to approximately 2.25 acres and includes the main driveway and the gravel parking area in front of the entire castle, a further 6 acres of land is available via separate negotiation perfect for equestrian use.
