On the old road between Valdarno and Florence, a watchtower of the 1300s gave birth to a charming country house surrounded by greenery. Amplified in the 15th century, Chianti Refuge became the welcoming refuge in the forest that exists today. A very strategic refuge, located in the middle of the Chianti, just 18 km from Florence and 70 km from Siena. From the property, one can see over the green valley and to Florence. Near Florence and only 2 km from the nearest village, Chianti Refuge combines the tranquility of the Florentine countryside with the comforts and services of the city.

The 675m2 country house is currently divided into 4 independent apartments:

Chianti Refuge is completely renovated with traditional restoration and consolidation techniques to fix and improve the foundation of the house, as well as aesthetic restorations. The finishing is carefully chosen with attention to local techniques and materials. The property has stone walls, ceilings with exposed chestnut wood beams, floors in wood and terracotta tiles from Impruneta, kitchens in Carrara marble and custom-made wooden cabinets, bathrooms with glass mosaics and pink marble, and hand-made iron elements.

The property consists of a piece of agricultural land of approximately 5.6 ha in the area called Chianti Classico. The land is about 2.7 ha of medium to tall forest. The rest consists of fields already prepared to receive various crops. The garden around the house boasts an untouched natural countryside atmosphere with typical Tuscan vegetation such as roses, jasmine, lavender, and rosemary. There are terraces and patios around the house that are furnished for eating and relaxing outdoors. The focal point of the garden is a 7.5 m x 4 m ecological swimming pool with a wooden patio. The pool is elevated with panoramic views that are especially breathtaking in the evening during sunset.

The property is served by underfloor serpentine heating powered by a low-consumption LPG condensing boiler. On each floor, there are thermostats to regulate the temperature. In addition, each apartment has its own working fireplace.

Chianti Refuge is a strategic, peaceful and natural refuge. The house is ideal as a main residence or second home in the countryside, with the unification of some apartments. Its current division into four independent apartments is useful for tourist rentals.
