A home which could easily feature in a fantastical storybook "The Tree House" is truly one-of-a-kind. Combining natural timber, thoughtful architecture and a signature wraparound verandah with Juliet balcony, the considered craftsmanship of this home is a statement of its own.Architecturally designed by Stuart Whitelaw and Rolfe Chrystal approx. 30 years ago with a focus on natural building materials, this is a home that defies convention and offers something increasingly rare: genuine character, warmth and individuality on approx. half an acre of established cottage gardens.Tallowwood slabs feature extensively in the construction and verandahs, complemented by selectively felled Ironbark posts, while 100-year-old Ironbark, Bluegum, recycled Oregon, Jarrah and Kauri add warmth and personality throughout the interiors. Striking ceiling angles capture abundant natural light, while an open gallery connects the upstairs bedroom and parents' retreat, overlooking the sitting and dining areas and creating a wonderful sense of space and connection.Set on 2529m2, the fully fenced property features a sweeping driveway incorporating approximately 9,000 recycled bricks, along with a substantial barn/garage with office and ensuite facilities. The boundary hedging provides privacy, whilst meandering gardens and open lawns offer space for the children to play.Despite its peaceful rural setting, convenience is close at hand, with Glenorie Shopping Centre and village amenities just 800m away and a bus stop at the beginning of the street.A home of remarkable character and craftsmanship, "The Tree House" is for those who appreciate the beauty of raw materials, easy care small acreage and relaxed afternoons under the shade of the natural wisteria ceiling.
