L'Ecluse is located in an enviable position high above Vallee des Vaux, and overlooks one of Jersey's most unspoilt and peaceful areas, yet is within easy reach of town and schools. L'Ecluse stands in some 7 verges with a natural pond that's fed by a stream which runs through the property.

Description

L'Ecluse which translates to "the lock", is steeped in Jersey history. It was originally a granite farmhouse and was responsible for controlling the water flow of the valley watermill.

The property was purchased by the present owner in 2006 and has since undergone a complete re-design. Particular attention has been paid to how the property 'flows' and how the interior relates to the exterior, taking advantage of the properties elevated position, and utilising optimal facilities for family living.

Species such as lace bark ash, snake bark maple, silver birch, dawn redwoods, American hickory and a variety of aces.

There are very large, mature species of rhododendron, along with rare and unusual species of Magnolia and Camellia. To the rear of L'Ecluse there is a wooden 'White Cottage' greenhouse planted with citrus and vine and an open fronted log store. The orchard is planted with a large variety of fruit trees.

The property also benefits from a 2-bedroom/2-bathroom, detached guest/staff cottage, known as the 'Lock Keepers Cottage', with its own drive, carport and parking for three cars.
