Nearby Bewl Water Reservoir at Lamberhurst (4.2 miles) offers a wide range of activities including fishing, sailing, rowing and wonderful walks. Bedgebury Pinetum (1.6 miles) also has excellent local walks, cycling, riding and outdoor music concerts. Scotney Castle (4.2 miles) offers picturesque gardens against the backdrop of a moated medieval castle and Victorian country mansion, with beautiful parkland, woodland and traditional hop gardens to enjoy. Local schools include of note include Wadhurst CE Primary and Uplands Academy, as well as Cranbrook Grammar school within easy reach. Other schools of note include Mayfield for Girls and Dulwich in Cranbrook.

Mainline Rail Services: Etchingham (4.6 miles) or Staplehurst (12 miles) stations have frequent services to London via London Bridge and Waterloo East. Tunbridge Wells also offers fast and frequent services (11 miles).
