Cookham Dean is a highly regarded and picturesque village conveniently located for the M40 (Junction 4 – 5.7 miles) and the M4 (Junction 8/9 – 5.6 miles) which provides access to Heathrow Airport and the M25.

Nearby Marlow (1.9 miles) offers a superb range of retailers, with an eclectic mix of local independent and national retailers. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants dotted around the town offering destinations for any occasion. Marlow itself is situated on the banks of the River Thames and the Thames Path follows the river through the town.

Day-to-day shopping needs are well served in Marlow and Cookham; more extensive amenities may be found in Maidenhead (3.8 miles). Rail connections to London (Paddington) are available from Cookham Rise (via the branch line to Maidenhead), providing services to the City and beyond via the new Elizabeth Line.

Just outside the town, the area opens out to glorious rolling countryside and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Outdoor pursuits are numerous, as are golf, football, cricket and rugby clubs.

Description

Woodpeckers is a very charming house situated in one of the area’s most picturesque residential roads. The property was built in 1928 and is an attractive example of the Arts and Crafts movement with a thatched roof and pretty whitewashed walls inset with lead light windows. Directions

From Marlow, head south on the High Street and cross the river via Marlow Bridge. Turn left into Quarry Wood Road and continue onto Dean Lane. After about 0.7 miles turn right onto Alleyns Lane, where the turning to Woodpeckers will be found on the right-hand side after the black and white thatched building.
