The building was designed by architect Alfred Hellerström in 1891. This residence was originally created by industrialist Carl Becker and his wife Elisabeth. Elisabeth Becker continued to reside here until the 1930s, after which the apartment served as office premises for several decades. In 2010, the property was acquired by a builder, which carefully restored the four heritage-listed salons to their original condition with great respect for the building’s history. The ceiling paintings, executed by the artist Vicke Andrén, also known for his work at the Royal Swedish Opera, Oscar Theatre and Van der Nootska Palace, highlight the apartment’s artistic and historical significance. The renovation was awarded the Stockholm Heritage Association’s Building Prize for a distinguished restoration in 2012.
