In the heart of the Östergötland archipelago a mile south of Söderköping you will find 'Husby farmstead,' called 'Husby Castle' by the locals in the area. The whole estate is surrounded by a beautiful castle atmosphere with a rich heritage which stretches all the way back the 1500s. The estate also offers fantastic views over Östersjöviken bay, and the nature and the culture enrich this place to make it one of the most beautiful. The estate consists of one corps de logi, raised in the 1700s but with a history that stretches back to the 1500s. The building has three floors, with approximately 600 square metres per floor as well as a cellar and an attic. There are six bedroom suites in the castle, decorated salons, entrancing drawing rooms, a library, a wine cellar, and a large kitchen. There are also plenty of modern conference rooms and personal meeting rooms. The castle milieu and the rich heritage is unique and captivating. The current owners lease homes as well as a hotel and conference establishment in modern and well-kept buildings where the materials and the architecture has been preserved from the 1700s, and which has a wonderful patina today. 'Husby Säteri' is a gathering place year-round for conferences, weddings, parties, courses in hunting, music events, car shows, and other happenings. Approximately 2000 guests per year enjoy the yearly Christmas dinner with a night's stay. The summer is active with plenty of tourists. The beautiful and well-renovated wing buildings lend the castle an impressive character and consists of: the eastern wing with circa 350 square metres in living area tastefully renovated with great materials, the small wing with circa 140 square metres and the hunting villa with circa 170 square metres with both a garden and an outdoor patio. The western wing has a garage as well as a conference room fitting 100 people. Below the hunting villa, you'll find the Tenant Farmer's House ('Arrendatorsbostaden'), consisting of two apartments with 127 square metres each. Towards the bay, slightly separated from the main estate, you'll find the hotel buildings beautifully situated in a valley. They were built in 1996 och consist of stylishly furnished double rooms with their own pentry. 'Hotel Sörgården' has five double rooms, 'Norrgården' 10 rooms as well as the building 'Staten' which was totally renovated in 2000, has 10 double rooms and two shared drawing rooms. In total, 'Husby Säteri' houses 31 rooms with 65 beds, in addition to the wing buildings and the Tenant Farmer's House which is rented year-round. There is also a separate relax area building with jacuzzi and a sauna as well as two treatment rooms which is leased to a massage business today. The grounds comprise 40 hectares and are spread out over crop and grazing land (30 hectares), forest (10 hectares). A little island in the sea is also included. The farm buildings consist of three barns, a stable which is insulated, a heated workshop comprising 140 square metres, a large conference and party room housing 570 square metres with a stage and bar for large events. The space is approved to house 600 people. One of the barns is used for storage of boats during the wintertime. In total, there's 3000 square metres of flooring space in the farm buildings. Only a mile west, you'll find picturesque Söderköping with a heritage stretching back to the middle ages and with beautiful Göta Canal which runs through the city.
