Bay House was designed by architect Joke Vos, who has been involved in the development of the urban district of Katendrecht and Kop van Zuid for over twenty years. According to the architect, the apartment complex pursues above all sturdy elegance with its robust look in light color. The facade grid - rectangular with wide wall sections between the facade openings - is executed in a concrete composite. The complex takes on the double-height dimension of the port buildings, as it were, and is filled in with glass facades. The quirky building is a pleasant change from the existing residential towers on Wilhelmina Pier.
