Watterow has a local pub, whilst local amenities can be found in Wiveliscombe, at about 1.5 miles, where there is a primary and secondary school. Also there are also a variety of private schools in the area including Wellington School, Blundell's at Tiverton, Kings Hall, Kings and Queens in Taunton.

Wimbleball Lake Activity Centre, one of the South West's hidden recreational treasures, is about 7 miles away, offering a range of activities including walks, sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing, cycling and fishing.

Communication links to the area are good, with the M5 at Taunton (about 13 miles), or Wellington (about 8 miles) and Tiverton (about 15 miles). Train stations in Taunton and at Tiverton Parkway (M5 Junction 27), have regular direct services to London Paddington in about 2 hours (1hr 45min approx from Taunton), and there are airports at Exeter and Bristol, providing regular flights to UK and International destinations.
