Bay Tree Cottage lies within the parish of the small village of Great Coxwell. The village is the setting for the Parish Reading Room, a 12th century church and also the National Trust Great Tithe Barn. For those wishing to enjoy the immediate surroundings, there are lovely countryside walks through the surrounding villages and along the nearby footpaths and bridleways.

The nearby market town of Faringdon provides an excellent range of everyday facilities, including banks, shops, schooling and leisure facilities. There are also active tennis and cricket clubs, together with squash courts and a gym.

For the commuter, the A420 connects the M4 to the South at Swindon (junction 15) and the M40 to the north near Oxford (junction 9). There are main line railway stations at Swindon, Didcot and Oxford.

From Cirencester, head south-east down the A417 onto the A419 towards Swindon. Exit onto the A420, going straight over two roundabouts and turn left towards Faringdon Rd A420 (above Watchfield). Follow A420 and take the Great Coxwell Rd to Cherry Orchard in Great Coxwell, past Annabells Nursery and the property can be found on the left about 100m away.
