Location

Riebeek West enjoys some interesting history. The birthplace of both DF Malan and Jan Christiaan Smuts, both prominent politicians, both attended the small Church school and were in the same class. The area is known as the Riebeek Valley with Riebeek Kasteel 3 kilometres to the south of Riebeek West and Ongegund village 3 kilometres to the north. The tiny village of Hermon is 9 kilometres to the east . Travel time to Cape Town International airport is one hour fifteen minutes. Access to Cape Town via the N7 motorway takes an hour. The area is known for good wine with 6 well known farms and some smaller interesting ones.
