CASTLE CROY – CROYLAAN 14, AARLE-RIXTEL

Unique office accommodation in a tranquil, green setting at Castle Croy

Approx. 738 sq m lettable office space (LFA) in total.

History

Castle Croy, located in Aarle-Rixtel near Helmond, is a historical gem dating back to the 15th century. Although the exact construction date is unknown, the castle is first mentioned in 1477. The original builders were likely members of the Van Croy family, a noble lineage from which the castle derives its name. Over the centuries, the castle has had various owners, each leaving their mark on the architecture and atmosphere of the building.

The last private resident, Johanna van der Brugghen—also known as the freule—left a warm and personal imprint on the castle. Until her death in 1873, she lovingly oversaw the maintenance of the gardens and buildings. Her presence has given Castle Croy a distinctive, almost homely atmosphere that is still palpable today.

Renovation

In early 2024, the castle temporarily closed for a large-scale renovation and restoration of this National Monument. The exterior underwent extensive maintenance, including façades, pointing, and exterior paintwork. The interior experienced a thorough transformation, with all building-related installations fully renewed and made more sustainable, ensuring the property meets contemporary office-user requirements.

The bel-etage has been renovated and redesigned as an inviting reception area. The most extensive refurbishment and reconfiguration took place on the first and second (attic) floors, which have been transformed into two modern, self-contained office floors while preserving characteristic features. All interior painting has been renewed with respect for the historic colour palette.

Virtually nothing was left untouched—always with preservation of valuable monumental elements and respect for the building's heritage. The result is a unique office environment that meets all modern expectations, wrapped in a magnificent historic setting and green surroundings. For the modern office user seeking to escape the bustle of the city, Castle Croy offers space, tranquillity, excellent parking, and above all a highly distinctive workplace with a compelling story for both users and visitors.

The Castle Today

Today, Castle Croy offers unique office spaces for companies and organisations seeking an inspiring work environment in a peaceful, green, rural setting. Classical elements—such as vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, and authentic windows—have been carefully preserved, creating a truly distinctive ambience.

Working at Castle Croy means working where history and modern comfort blend seamlessly. In addition to its (external) office function, the castle also fulfils an important cultural and social role.

The castle may host weddings and other gatherings; however, it is explicitly not a party venue.

The bel-etage serves as a stately and welcoming reception level, with spacious meeting rooms where the castle's history is clearly felt. These rooms are available for hire to all parties. Catering for meetings is provided from the basement level, which also houses the shared lunch area for office tenants on the first and second (attic) floors.

The first and second (attic) floors were thoroughly renovated and partially reconfigured. Each floor now has its own separate sanitary facilities and pantry. This has resulted in two efficient, largely open-plan office floors, offering a pleasing contrast between historic features and contemporary elements suited to modern office use.

Office Space

A total of approx. 738 sq m LFA is available to let, divided as follows:

  • First floor: approx. 424 sq m LFA

  • Second (attic) floor: approx. 314 sq m LFA

LFA includes the lettable office area plus an allocation of shared spaces within the castle, such as the basement, reception areas on the bel-etage, and circulation spaces.

Meeting rooms and a ceremonial space on the bel-etage and in the basement range from approx. 15 sq m to 80 sq m LFA. These rooms can be rented separately on a day-hire basis by external parties or by the castle's office tenants.

The Stichting Geloof, Hoop en Liefde intends, for the time being, to lease the first and second (attic) floors to either one single tenant or one tenant per floor. Castle Croy therefore functions as an office-designated building with space for cultural and social events. Such events take place on the bel-etage, in the basement, and in the castle gardens, and will be organised so as to minimise disruption to office tenants—naturally in consultation with users and in accordance with the House Rules.
