Location

Aldeburgh, a seaside town closely associated with the composer Benjamin Britten, has a wide selection of cultural and shopping amenities, and some marvellous restaurants. The neighbouring village of Thorpeness has a charming boating lake and country club.

Historic market towns, Saxmundham, Framlingham and Woodbridge provide a great array of amenities including independent shops, cafés, restaurants and galleries.   

Local sporting facilities are fantastic and include highly regarded golf, tennis and sailing clubs in Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Woodbridge, which also has popular rugby and rowing clubs.

There are excellent local state and private schools, including Woodbridge School and Framlingham College.

Snape is a delightful village set on the River Alde, internationally renowned for its concert hall and the excellent amenities at Snape Maltings, including galleries, independent shops, cafés and three public houses.

Kiln House is located within the renowned historic building of Snape Maltings, which dates back to the mid-19th century and was originally established by the entrepreneur Newson Garrett. It later became one of the largest and most significant industrial maltings in the UK, producing malt for London breweries. Following its closure in the 1960s, the building was transformed in 1967 into a concert hall and arts centre by the composer Benjamin Britten.
