Property Description
Peñón del Águila, an Oasis Amidst Nature
With a surface area of 58 hectares, it is located within La Cumbrecita, in a small valley of the Sierras Grandes in Córdoba, Argentina, at an altitude of 1,500 meters, inside the PROVINCIAL NATURE RESERVE.
La Cumbrecita consists of a charming cluster of houses built in the style of Bavaria, Germany, nestled among winding forests, reflecting the town’s Teutonic origins.
The property has three convenient access points: one before entering the town from the main road, another directly from the pedestrian village of La Cumbrecita, and a third one crossing the town toward the northern area of the estate.
The Río del Medio flows from east to west, while the Arroyo del Águila runs from north to south, and they meet to form three waterfalls, each 30 meters high. At this point, the “Lago Largo” (Long Lake) is formed, approximately 100 meters in length, with white sandy beaches surrounded by lush vegetation.
The grounds are landscaped with oaks, cedars, sweetgums, birches, and pines, among other species typical of Germany’s Black Forest.
Wildlife in the area includes Black-chested Buzzard-Eagles nesting on the Peñón del Águila, as well as condors, grey and red foxes, pumas, wild boars, and squirrels — iconic species of La Cumbrecita.
The property is equipped with roads, potable water, and an electricity network. Several trails cross the land, including three picturesque suspension bridges that span the Río del Medio, the Arroyo del Águila, and the waterfalls.
The mountain lodge, offices, and restrooms were built using local cypress logs and are decorated with furniture and fixtures made from deer antlers brought from Bariloche, in Argentine Patagonia. These structures cover a total of approximately 1,300 m².
On the beach of the Langer See (Long Lake), there is a grill area, a bar, an eco-friendly dining room, a sand-level deck, and changing rooms with restrooms.
The facilities also include two service sheds and potable water cisterns.
Although the property has been preserved as a Natural Reserve to date, according to the urban planning code, it can be developed into residential or commercial lots, with a minimum plot size of 2,000 m².
