Description

Providence House, built by a merchant family in the 1800s, was originally a draper's shop with retail space on the ground floor and living quarters above. Constructed from stone and topped with a slate roof, this impressive, double-fronted Georgian property sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Over the years, Providence House has taken on various roles, including that of a hotel. Fully renovated in 2019 it is now divided into three individual apartments, each with a private entrance and an entry phone system. The apartments feature double-glazed sash windows with deep pine cills and engineered oak flooring throughout. Each one is beautifully and tastefully decorated, seamlessly blending original features with modern styling, including usb charging points in all kitchens and bedrooms and underfloor heating in the bathrooms. They boast crisp white walls, high ceilings, and stunning views of the countryside extending to the sea.

Wivell - Located on the ground floor and accessed through the original main entrance of Providence house, Wivell is a beautifully presented, stylish two bedroom apartment. A small entrance lobby, with coats hooks and built in pine bench opens into a good sized living area. An original Georgian fireplace graces one end, creating a warm and inviting seating space. At the opposite end, the kitchen features elegant granite work surfaces, chic open shelving, and room for sociable dining.
Off the inner hallway are a light and airy principal bedroom with doors opening onto a terrace, a second twin bedroom and the most magnificent luxurious bathroom with freestanding copper bath, double vanity basins and a large walk in rainfall shower.
The small terrace, with a wonderful slate wall, sits directly to the rear of the property. This private area has wall hung benches and wall lights and a private gate for access. Steps rise to a larger paved terrace with far reaching views, perfect for al fresco dining and relaxation.

Draper - Accessed through a door to the side, shared with Merchant, stairs ascend to Draper, a smart first floor apartment. A small lobby leads into a spacious living area featuring three sash windows filling the room with natural light. There is an original Georgian fireplace and alcove shelves at one end, while the other end boasts a shaker-style kitchen with granite work surfaces. Additionally, there is a sash window to the side framing wonderful views of the countryside and sea beyond.
The principal and second bedrooms are both of a good size, each with a glazed door opening to a wide sheltered balcony and stylish en suite shower rooms. From the balcony, steps lead down to a private terrace that offers stunning views and is a wonderful outdoor space.

Merchant - This charming second-floor apartment offers breathtaking views from its elevated position. From the side entrance the staircase rises past Draper to a balcony at the rear of Providence House. Upon entering, there is a light and airy hallway, opening into a dual-aspect living space flooded with afternoon light. Mirroring Draper three sash windows span the width of the room, complemented by exposed oak beams and a high apex ceiling. Opposite the seating area is a stylish kitchen featuring shaker-style units and granite work surfaces. A side window offers views of Forrabury Church and the sea beyond, showcasing stunning sunsets.
