Location

Stanford in the Vale is a thriving village close to the market towns of Faringdon and Wantage in the heart of the Vale of the White Horse. The village offers a primary school, pre-school, mini-supermarket, newsagent and post office, hairdresser, pub, village hall, gym/Pilates, vet and garage as well as a parish church. The larger centres of Oxford and Swindon offer further shopping, cultural and leisure facilities.

There is a wide selection of both state and private schools within the locality including St Hugh’s, Pinewood, Abingdon School, St Helen & St Katherine, together with well-regarded state schools in Wantage and Faringdon. Communication is good with the A420 connecting to Oxford, Swindon and the M4.   Mainline train services from Didcot (15 miles) to both London Paddington.

Situated a conservation area of the village, the Grade II Listed, picture postcard cottage has origins dating to the late 16th century, remodelled in the 18th century. Overlooking the green, the pretty wisteria clad property, attached to one side was formally two cottages. Directions

Leave Oxford heading west on the A420 and shortly after Southmoor, take the left turn to Pusey. Proceed through Gainfield turning left in the big bend, to Stanford-in-the-Vale. Follow Bow road as it becomes Chapel Road and turn right as you come onto the green. Vine Cottage is found on the right overlooking the green.
