Mexico is on course to change the rules that restrict foreign buyers from buying property on coastal plots and its borders.
This skyscraper by Mexican studio Rojkind Arquitectos is about to commence construction in Mexico City. The project unites 12 plots of land and will extend 52 floors into the air, with the first three floors accommodating restaurants and shops and the residential apartments above them on 35 storeys.
Mexican architect Gilberto Borja has designed the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya Resort. The newest hideaway resort is set among 36 acres of tropical forests and milky white sands lapped by the cerulean blue Caribbean Sea. As ever they have designed a fabulous enclave of luxury while retaining a distinctive feel for the setting.
Architectural photographer Iwan Baan recently shot the Universe House, a beach house with a pool on the roof. The house was designed by Mexican artist Gabriel Orozco and built by architect Tatiana Bilbao in Roca Blanca, Mexico. The house is inspired on the Jantar Mantar Astronomical Observatory, built in Delhi in 1724.
