Inglisfield is situated approximately 1 mile (as the crow flies) to the west of the picturesque village of Gifford, which is one of the most sought after villages in East Lothian. Nestled between the Lammermuir Hills and Haddington it provides excellent local services with a convenience store and a newsagents with a Post Office counter, two hotels/pubs, a tea room, garage, church, a lovely park with a play area and the highly regarded Yester Primary School. The Compass private primary school and Knox Academy secondary school are located 5 miles away in the town of Haddington, while Loretto School (prep and senior), Musselburgh and Belhaven Hill School (prep), Dunbar are also easily accessible.

Inglisfield is set in an incredibly private and quiet setting just outside Gifford. The house is approached by its own driveway which is flanked by lawns and mature shrubs leading up to the main entrance. The front door to Inglisfield is set within a porch and opens up into a wonderful reception hallway which features a cloakroom, butler's pantry and has French doors to the garden.
