Moreton Pinkney is an attractive rural village comprising mainly of ironstone properties, set in undulating south Northamptonshire countryside.

Amenities in the village include St Mary's church, village hall and playground. There is a weekly butchers van and fresh fish van (at time of print, May 2025). The village is active with village hall functions, church and garden club. There is also a village shop in the neighbouring village of Sulgrave and a butchers, pub and coffee shop in Culworth. Further amenities found at Woodford Halse (Co-op and post office) and the market towns of Banbury (10 miles), Towcester (10.5 miles) and Brackley (9.6 miles), which provide a range of shopping and leisure facilities. More extensive facilities can be found at Milton Keynes, Northampton and Oxford.

The village is well situated for access to both the M40 (J11) Banbury and M1 (J15a) Northampton. Train services run from Banbury to London/Marylebone (from 56 minutes) and Milton Keynes to London/Euston (from 35 minutes).

Private preparatory schools include St. John's Priory (Banbury), Winchester House (Brackley) and Beachborough (Westbury). Senior independent schools include Rugby, Stowe, Northampton High (girls), Bloxham and Tudor Hall (girls).

Sporting facilities in the area include golf at Cherwell Edge (Chacombe), Staverton, Whittlebury and Hellidon Lakes (Country Club); motor racing at Silverstone, theatre at Milton Keynes and cinema multiplex at Northampton. There are also numerous footpaths and bridleways in the local area providing good walking opportunities.
