Location

Barleythorpe is a small village situated approximately a mile from the market town of Oakham and close to the village of Langham. Oakham provides a good level of local amenities, and a wider range of services can be found at Melton 9 miles or Leicester 20 miles. Stamford has a wealth of shops, leisure facilities, restaurants and the famous coaching inn, The George Hotel and hosts the Burghley Horse Trials annually.

Rail services are available from Kettering or Peterborough and take around 50 minutes with direct services to London. The area has excellent state and private schooling in Oakham, Uppingham, Stamford and Oundle.

Leisure pursuits including golf at Luffenham Heath, Stamford and Greetham are close by, whilst Rutland Water with its nature reserve is approximately 3 miles away with it's plethora of sailing, kayaking, walking and cycling.
