Location

Hawkhurst offers good local shopping and amenities including Waitrose and Tesco supermarkets, independent shops, several pubs and the Kino Digital Cinema. More extensive shopping and leisure facilities can be found in Cranbrook (4.2 miles), Tenterden (10 miles) and Tunbridge Wells (15.2 miles).

Nearby Bewl Water Reservoir at Lamberhurst offers a wide range of activities including fishing, sailing, rowing and wonderful walks. Bedgebury Pinetum also offers excellent local walks, cycling trails, riding and outdoor music concerts. The historic town of Rye and the coast lie about 13.5 miles and 17 miles respectively to the south.

Etchingham (4.5 miles) or Staplehurst (9.3 miles) stations have frequent services to London via London Bridge and Waterloo East. A high speed train service runs from Ashford (22 miles) to London St Pancras in about 37 minutes.
