An elegant Grade II listed farmhouse described by Historic England as follows:-
Farmhouse, late C17, mid C18 and early C19. Timber framed and plastered with pyramid slate roof. Square plan form with major elevations to east and west. Each elevation has 3 bays of double hung sash windows with single vertical glazing bars and moulded surrounds. The east elevation has blocked central doorway with a flat hood on small brackets. The west facade has a central flat hooded doorcase with dentilled cornice and moulded frieze panel. Over this is a three light window with pointed Gothic heads. 'Double pile' plan form. Timber frame of substantial timbers. Interior has much mid C18 panelling and a contemporary staircase with turned balusters and scrolled tread ends. In a ground floor room is a mid C18 alcove cupboard, with serpentine shelves, thin pilasters and half dome head with contemporary painting of Ceres. Some of the windows have their original internal shutters in-situ. The bases of two large, late C17 stacks remain, surmounted by early C19 gault brick stacks.
The ground floor comprises an entrance hall leading to the reception rooms and kitchen. Each reception room has an array of period features including part panelled rooms, impressive fireplaces, tall ceilings and large windows which flood the rooms with natural light.
The kitchen/breakfast room has a range of fitted cupboards, a pantry, a butler sink, quarry tiled floor and an Aga. There is a door to the utility room with quarry tiled floor, butler sink, doors to boiler room, airing cupboard and guest cloakroom.
There is planning consent to demolish the utility room and extend to make use of the space between the side of the dining room and back of the utility room.
The first floor comprises a part panelled landing with a window seat, four large bedrooms and a family bathroom. The main bedroom has a dressing room which has potential to be converted into an en suite shower room.
The house is approached via a driveway which leads to a gravel area to the front of the house providing parking for several cars. There is an attractive garden and lawn with adjacent timber outbuilding suitable for a variety of uses. The building is divided into a barn, workshop, cart lodge and stable. To the left of the house is a self contained annex arranged as a living room with kitchen, a bedroom and bathroom. The annex is currently used as a gym and provides ideal independent living quarters.
