March of Lathones is set in the rolling Fife countryside, approximately five and a half miles from the centre of St Andrews. The property is surrounded by a belt of mature broadleaved trees and fields.

The house is well located for access to St Andrews and all the villages of the East Neuk of Fife. There is a bus service which passes the house. St Andrews is renowned worldwide as the Home of Golf. The Old Course is a regular host to the Open Championship which will next be held there in 2027. There are six further golf courses in St Andrews run by the Links Trust and many other golf courses in the area, among them the Duke's Course, Fairmont St Andrews, Kingsbarns, Anstruther, Crail, Elie and Dumbarnie. The nearest village is Peat Inn which has a renowned Michelin star restaurant. The property is close to the coastal villages of Elie, Anstruther and Crail in the East Neuk of Fife. The East Neuk is renowned for its fishing villages built around picturesque harbours, sandy beaches and the Fife Coastal Path. St Andrews has a great selection of shops, hotels and restaurants. The town is also well known for its university, founded in 1413, the university is Scotland's first and the third oldest in the English-speaking world. There is primary and secondary schooling in Anstruther, Largoward and St Andrews. Private schooling is available at St Leonards in St Andrews, recently named Scottish Independent Secondary School of the Year for Academic Excellence 2026. The High School of Dundee is just over 30 mins away. Access by rail, road and air is good. Leuchars railway station (10 miles) is on the main Aberdeen to London line and provides a link to Dundee and Edinburgh. Leven railway station (9.6) miles has a service to Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh. There is dual carriageway from Kirkcaldy to the M90 and Edinburgh. Edinburgh Airport, with its increasingly wide range of domestic and international flights is 42 miles.

Description

March of Lathones is a charming detached, single-storey cottage constructed of white harled stone beneath a pitched tiled roof. The accommodation is thoughtfully arranged into a west wing and an east wing, with a central hallway linking the two.
