La Jolla, California, is the most expensive home market in the U.S., according to the 2009 Coldwell Banker Home Price Comparison Index. With an average price of $2.13 million, a 2,200-square-foot (204-square-meter) home in La Jolla costs more than any other comparable property in 310 markets nationwide, Coldwell said today. La Jolla is located within the city limits of San Diego.
